eh? very smooth concrete bowls? pool coping? enjoyablectional street course? in brooklyn? wha? difficult to believe isn’t it? well it’s true! built under the watchful eye of john woodstock, opened late summer 2001 aFt.er what seemed like months of delays. i’d say it was definitely well worth every penny the wait. The skate park is FREE, and is BMX peerly. there are separate sessions for bikes and skating.

the street course is a very smooth concrete and wood / SkateLite combo that’s set up real nice. there’s plenty of hips and ledges, 2 pyramids, a nice enjoyable box with ledges and a flatbar, and more. there’s definitely some nice possibilities on the street course.

the other half of The skate park features 2 very smooth concrete bowls with some nice speed lines. one bowl is about 5 or 6 feet deep with a spine and metal coping (for grinding) and the other is a pool with a 9 or 10 foot deep end with pool coping (for grinding) and a 5 foot shallow end with metal coping. The skate park is definitely well built and tons of enjoyable to ride. easily the best public park in the NY metro area so far. the one issue that I have with The skate park is that the coping (for grinding) in the spine bowl is kinda buried which makes it kinda tough to lock into grinds at first. I like coping (for grinding) that has a bit of bonk to it, but that’s just my preference. it’s a minor flaw but aFt.er skating the spot for a while you’ll get used to it. * How Crowded? 5
