Skateboard Lessons by Alexa C. From Lynnwood, WA

She focuses on teaching strength and balancing exercises that are related to skateboarding, mimicking techniques off the board to give her students an idea of how they should move once they’re ready to step on their board. She does this not solely for safety purposes, but to give students an understanding of each skate technique.

After teaching feet-on-the-ground exercises, Alexa then offers her students the chance to get their feet on the board. Depending on each student, she will talk them through different exercises they can try on their board, with her standing close by. Every skateboarder learns at their own pace, and Alexa meets each student where they are, and at the pace that feels natural to them. Keeping an open dialogue throughout each lesson is how Alexa determines the speed at which she teaches, and the exercises suitable to each lesson.
