Walls, is a village located in Northern DeSoto County, Mississippi near the Mississippi River, part of the larger region known as “The Delta”, and known for its rich, dark soil.
A relatively young community, Walls was originally named Alpika, an old Chickasaw Indian word. The name was changed to Walls in 1906.
Walls was named after Captain June Walls, who served in the Civil War. Captain Walls was an early settler and merchant of the region in the 1880s.
A Mississippian culture village site near Walls, the Walls Site, gives its name to the Walls Phase, the last prehistoric cultural expression before European contact. The historic trail of Hernando de Soto leads through DeSoto County to near Walls.

Do you want to learn skateboarding?

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Study all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Walls skate park.
