Upper Darby Township is a home rule township bordering West Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. Although it retains the term “Township” in its legal name, presumably for historic reasons, it is the largest municipality of any type in Delaware County. Upper Darby is also home to the Tower Theater, a historic music venue on 69th street built in the 1920s. Upper Darby’s population is diverse, representing over 100 ethnic cultures located within its densely populated, rowhouse streets. It is Pennsylvania’s sixth most populous municipality.
Located just 2.8 miles from Center City, many of Upper Darby’s residents work in Center City (downtown Philadelphia). Upper Darby houses the western terminus of the Market-Frankford Line of the SEPTA mass transit system of Philadelphia, with the location at 69th street in the heart of Upper Darby’s principal business district. Multiple trolley and bus lines connect the 69th Street Terminal to all major SEPTA lines of Philadelphia.

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Learn all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Upper Darby skate park.
