Southern View is a village in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,695 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Springfield, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Southern View is located at 39°45′23″N 89°39′1″W / 39.75639°N 89.65028°W / 39.75639; -89.65028 (39.756260, -89.650370).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,695 people, 798 households, and 453 families residing in the village. The population density was 3,218.4 people per square mile (1,234.8/km²). There were 841 housing units at an average density of 1,596.8 per square mile (612.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.34% White, 0.83% African American, 0.53% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 1.06% from other races, and 0.41% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.71% of the population.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
