A 2023 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the physical locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.
