The word rector (“ruler”, from the Latin regere and rector meaning “ruler” in Latin) has a number of different meanings; it is widely used to refer to an academic, religious or political administrator. The word is related to rectrix (“helmsman”), one of a bird’s tail feathers.
The term and office of a rector are called a rectorate.
“Rector” is also a surname in English-speaking countries and in some others where European languages are spoken.
The rector is the highest academic official of many universities and in certain other institutions of higher education, as well as even in some secondary-level schools.
The title is used widely in universities across Europe. It is also very common in Latin American countries. It is also used in Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Israel, all of which are strongly influenced by European traditions. In some universities, the title is phrased in an even loftier manner, as Rector Magnificus or Lord Rector.

Do you want to learn skateboarding?

Study all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Rector skate park.
