Quinton is a town in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,071 at the 2000 census. The town was named for Elizabeth Quinton who lived to be 116 years old. Her family still resides in and around the town of Quinton.
Quinton is located at 35°7′33″N 95°22′3″W / 35.12583°N 95.3675°W / 35.12583; -95.3675 (35.125904, -95.367470). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.8 km) of it is land and 0.88% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,071 people, 446 households, and 293 families residing in the town. The population density was 954.8 people per square mile (369.2/km²). There were 509 housing units at an average density of 453.8 per square mile (175.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 79.93% White, 0.19% African American, 16.15% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.19% from other races, and 3.36% from two or more races. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
