Placitas is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 3,452. It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Placitas is located at 35°19′3″N 106°27′7″W / 35.3175°N 106.45194°W / 35.3175; -106.45194 (35.317444, -106.452065).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 29.9 square miles (77 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,452 people, 1,485 households, and 1,101 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 115.4 people per square mile (44.5/km²). There were 1,606 housing units at an average density of 53.7 per square mile (20.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 83.52% White, 0.70% African American, 1.30% Native American, 0.52% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 10.46% from other races, and 3.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.22% of the population.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Discover all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will show you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Placitas skate park.
