Piggott, Arkansas is a city in Clay County, Arkansas, one of that county’s two seats (Corning is the other). It is also the northern terminus of the Arkansas segment of Crowley’s Ridge Parkway. As of the 2000 census, Piggott’s population was 3,894. The town was founded by William N. Barron, after his sister’s married name (sister Sarah Ann Barron, wife of John Piggott).
Piggott is perhaps best known for its association with American writer and Nobel laureate Ernest Hemingway, whose second wife Pauline Pfeiffer was the daughter of prominent local landowner and businessman Paul Pfeiffer. After meeting and marrying in Paris in the late 1920s, Ernest and Pauline made frequent and lengthy visits to her parent’s home in Piggott, where Ernest wrote portions of A Farewell to Arms, and other works. The Pfeiffer House and Carriage House are now preserved as the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center, run by Arkansas State University.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 report by American Sports Data uncovered there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Piggott skate park.
