Pavo is a constellation in the southern sky. Its name is Latin for peacock. It is one of twelve constellations created by Petrus Plancius from the observations of Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederick de Houtman and it first appeared on a 35-cm diameter celestial globe published in 1597 (or 1598) in Amsterdam by Plancius with Jodocus Hondius. The first depiction of this constellation in a celestial atlas was in Johann Bayer’s Uranometria of 1603.
In Australia, part of Pavo is sometimes called “the Saucepan” when it is used as a guide to finding the south by the stars.
The most notable star in the constellation is δ Pavonis, a nearby Sun-like but more evolved star. φ Pavonis, another Sun-like star has an unconfirmed extrasolar planet.
USS Pavo (AK-139) was a United States Navy Crater class cargo ship named after the constellation.

Discover Skateboarding in a Two Week-Long School

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
