Osage City is a city in Osage County, Kansas, United States. The population was 3,034 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Topeka, Kansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Osage City is located at 38°38′3″N 95°49′36″W / 38.63417°N 95.82667°W / 38.63417; -95.82667 (38.634069, -95.826759). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.5 square miles (9.1 km), of which, 3.4 square miles (8.8 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (2.29%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,034 people, 1,232 households, and 815 families residing in the city. The population density was 888.7 people per square mile (343.5/km²). There were 1,303 housing units at an average density of 381.7 per square mile (147.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.31% White, 0.36% African American, 1.05% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.40% Pacific Islander, 0.53% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.
