North Powder is a city in Union County, Oregon, United States. The population was 489 at the 2000 census.
North Powder was platted in 1885 or 1886 along the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company rail line, having been a stage stop before then.
David Eccles, a Mormon businessman, created the Hall Brothers Lumber Company in the town once the railway arrived.
North Powder prospered because it had an icehouse that supplied the refrigerator cars of Pacific Fruit Express until the icehouse burned down in the 1930s.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 489 people, 184 households, and 130 families residing in the city. The population density was 797.7 people per square mile (309.5/km²). There were 209 housing units at an average density of 340.9 per square mile (132.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.32% White, 0.61% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.41%…

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the North Powder skate park.
