Nickelsville is a town in Scott County, Virginia, United States. The population was 383 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kingsport–Bristol (TN)–Bristol (VA) Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the “Tri-Cities” region.
Nickelsville is located at 36°45′07″N 82°25′01″W / 36.751927°N 82.416951°W / 36.751927; -82.416951 (36.751927, -82.416951).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 448 people, 184 households, and 117 families residing in the town. The population density was 932.8 people per square mile (360.4/km). There were 210 housing units at an average density of 437.2 per square mile (168.9/km). The racial makeup of the town was 99.78% White, and 0.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.67% of the population.

A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
