New Douglas is a village in Madison County, Illinois, United States. The population was 369 at the 2000 census. It is a community that was centered around the local coal mines and farming in the early 1900s. When need for coal dropped in the 1950s the town fell back on its farming roots. Mostly farming of corn and soy beans. The current residing mayor is George H. Grindstaff Jr. It is also the hometown of popular disc jockey DJ HaVok also know by his given name Tim Brazel and formally know as DJ DB-1.
New Douglas is located at 38°58′12″N 89°40′3″W / 38.97°N 89.6675°W / 38.97; -89.6675 (38.970100, -89.667426).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²), all of it land.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the basics of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 report by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the New Douglas skate park.
