Mountain Top is a census-designated place (CDP) in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP population was 15,269.
Mountain Top consists of the entirety of Dorrance Township, Fairview Township, Rice Township, Slocum Township, and Wright Township.
Though it is generally accepted that the area’s proper name is “Mountain Top,” there has been some debate about whether it should actually be “Mountaintop.” The local historical society uses the spelling “Mountain Top”. The United States Postal Service uses the spelling “Mountain Top” for ZIP Code 18707 and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spells it Mountain Top on a Pennsylvania driver’s license. The local newspaper, however, the Mountaintop Eagle, uses the Mountaintop spelling in both its title as well as any reference to its location

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The biggest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Mountain Top skate park.
