Mars Hill is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,480 at the 2000 census.
The town is named for Hezekiah Mars, who camped for three years at the base of Mars Hill Mountain. In 1834, the first industry was cutting timber, particularly trees for masts. Following the Aroostook War, farming became important. The Bangor and Aroostook Railroad arrived in 1892, allowing shipment to distant markets of local produce — especially potatoes. In the 1960s, Big Rock Ski Area was founded on Mars Hill Mountain. In 2006, Maine’s first wind farm was installed along the top and northern side.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.2 square miles (91 km), of which, 35.1 square miles (91 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (0.20%) is water. Mars Hill is split partly in half by the Prestile Stream, which runs directly between Fort Street and Silver Street, and then crosses beneath the Fort Street Bridge. After…

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Be taught all of the fundamentals of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Mars Hill skate park.

  • Ability: Beginner through Competition-Style Advanced.
