Landis is a town in Rowan County, North Carolina, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 2,996. The town is located just north of Kannapolis, NC and south of China Grove, NC.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,996 people, 1,205 households, and 844 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,217.7 people per square mile (470.2/km²). There were 1,293 housing units at an average density of 525.5 per square mile (202.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 92.02% White, 2.47% African American, 0.23% Native American, 1.64% Asian, 2.54% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.31% of the population.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Understand all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. In spite, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Landis skate park.
