Lake Hopatcong is the largest freshwater body in the state of New Jersey, USA, approximately 4 square miles (10 km²) in area. The lake is located in the mountains of northern New Jersey, north of Netcong and along the border between Sussex and Morris counties.
The lake is within the borders of four municipalities, Hopatcong, Jefferson Township, Roxbury Township, and Mount Arlington. In the 18th century, the lake existed in two separate parts known as the “Great Pond” on the south and “Little Pond” on the north.
A natural body of water, the area of the lake has been enlarged by the damming of the Musconetcong River, its natural outlet, on the southern side of the lake.
The exact origin of the name “Hopatcong” is unknown. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Lake Hopatcong skate park.
