La Jara is a Statutory Town in Conejos County, Colorado, United States. The population was 877 at the 2000 census.
La Jara is located at 37°16′28″N 105°57′39″W / 37.27444°N 105.96083°W / 37.27444; -105.96083 (37.274536, -105.960844).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 877 people, 313 households, and 230 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,481.2 people per square mile (967.5/km²). There were 345 housing units at an average density of 976.1 per square mile (380.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 67.27% White, 0.11% African American, 2.85% Native American, 27.02% from other races, and 2.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 62.94% of the population.

A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
