Juno is a 2007 comedy-drama film directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody. Ellen Page stars as the title character, an independent-minded teenager confronting an unplanned pregnancy and the subsequent events that put pressures of adult life onto her. Michael Cera, Olivia Thirlby, J. K. Simmons, Allison Janney, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman also star. Filming spanned from early February to March 2007 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The film premiered on September 8 at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival, receiving a standing ovation.
The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and earned three other Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Page. The film’s soundtrack, featuring several songs performed by Kimya Dawson in various guises, was the first chart-topping soundtrack since Dreamgirls and 20th Century Fox’s first number one soundtrack since Titanic. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the coming years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
