Island City is a city in Union County, Oregon, United States. Its name originally came about due to it being located on an island between the Grande Ronde River and a nearby slough. However, the slough was later diverted, removing the city’s island status. The population was 916 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 916 people, 357 households, and 280 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,055.3 people per square mile (406.5/km²). There were 375 housing units at an average density of 432.0 per square mile (166.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.41% White, 0.22% African American, 1.20% Native American, 0.76% Asian, 0.33% Pacific Islander, 1.09% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.07% of the population.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
