Ideal was one of the more successful German Neue Deutsche Welle music groups. It is best known for the songs “Blaue Augen” (Blue Eyes), “Berlin”, and “Monotonie” (Monotony).
In early 1980, Annette Humpe, Ernst Ulrich Deuker, Frank Jürgen “Eff Jott” Krüger and Hans-Joachim “Hansi” Behrendt formed the band “Ideal”. Annette Humpe had played previously in the band Neonbabies alongside her sister Inga Humpe, before forming Ideal. Eff Jott Krüger previously played for the X-Pectors. In May 1980, Ideal released their first single on Eitel-Imperial—their own record label—entitled “Wir stehn auf Berlin” / “Männer gibt’s wie Sand am Meer”, which soon sold out. The British rock band Barclay James Harvest—who were particularly successful in Germany—performed a free open air concert on August 30, 1980 in front of the Reichstag building. The 150,000 visitors also saw Ideal, as they were booked as an opening act; this was a large step toward mainstream popularity.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
