Horton is named from the Old English meaning “muddy farmstead” and lies in the English county of Northamptonshire. It was originally an estate village, serving the now demolished Horton House and it is close to its neighbouring village Hackleton. It was home to the first Governor of the Bank of England.
It is 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Northampton and about 8 miles (13 km) north of Newport Pagnell on the road between those two towns in the southern part of the county. The current designation of this road as the B526 belies its former importance as the A50 the former stagecoach route connecting Leicester and London. The road was declassified when the M1 motorway was built. It was to service the original road that what is now a restaurant and hotel was built originally as a seventeenth-century country manor and coaching inn now known as “The New French Partridge”.

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Horton skate park.
