Hemlock is an unincorporated community in Richland Township, Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is also a census-designated place (CDP) for statistical purposes, but without any legal status as an incorporated municipality. The population of the CDP was 1,585 at the 2000 census. The area included in the CDP is in the south central portion of Richland Township. The Hemlock post office, with ZIP code 48626, serves nearly all of Richland Township, as well as portions of Fremont Township to the south, small areas of Thomas and Swan Creek townships to the southeast, and part of Ingersoll Township to the north in Midland County.
The community was first settled in 1865. A Post Office was established in 1869 with the name “Hemlock City”. This was shortened to Hemlock in 1895.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km), none of which is covered by water.

We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the previous year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Hemlock skate park.
