Hanover Township is one of the eighteen townships of Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 3,749 people in the township, 3,362 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.
Located in the western part of the county, it borders the following townships:
The village of Hanoverton is located in southern Hanover Township, and the unincorporated community of Kensington lies in the township’s southwest.
Statewide, other Hanover Townships are located in Butler, Ashland, and Licking Counties. The township was organized in 1806.
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
