A greenway is a long, narrow piece of land, often used for recreation and pedestrian and bicycle user traffic, and sometimes for streetcar, light rail or retail uses.
The term greenway comes from the green in green belt and the way in parkway, implying a recreational or pedestrian use rather than a typical street corridor, as well as an emphasis on introducing or maintaining vegetation, in a location where such vegetation is otherwise lacking. Some greenways include community gardens as well as typical park-style landscaping of trees and shrubs. They also tend to have a mostly contiguous pathway, allowing urban commuting via bicycle or foot.
Tom Turner has theorized the term Greenway in the publication: “Greenways, blueways, skyways and other ways to a better London Landscape and Urban Planning” (1995). The same term was used in the Declaration of Lille adopted on September 12, 2000 in Lille, on which to base the future large European Greenways Network.

A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Greenway skate park.
