Glen Alpine is a town in Burke County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,090 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Glen Alpine is located at 35°43′40″N 81°46′56″W / 35.72778°N 81.78222°W / 35.72778; -81.78222 (35.727721, -81.782327).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,090 people, 423 households, and 307 families residing in the town. The population density was 588.0 people per square mile (227.5/km²). There were 443 housing units at an average density of 239.0 per square mile (92.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 81.28% White, 3.85% African American, 0.37% Native American, 13.49% Asian, 0.64% from other races, and 0.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.73% of the population.

A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
