Gladwin is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 3,001. It is the county seat of Gladwin County.
The city is at the southwest corner of Gladwin Township, but is politically independent.
Gladwin is also the birthplace of Major League Baseball pitcher Jim Kern and Michigan’s junior U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.9 square miles (7.5 km), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,001 people, 1,234 households, and 740 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,047.5 per square mile (405.1/km²). There were 1,329 housing units at an average density of 463.9 per square mile (179.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.10% White, 0.23% African American, 0.53% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.37% from other races, and 1.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.50% of the population.

A 2023 report by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
