Friendsville is a town in Garrett County, Maryland, United States. The population was 539 at the 2000 census.
Friendsville is located at 39°39′44″N 79°24′19″W / 39.66222°N 79.40528°W / 39.66222; -79.40528 (39.662127, -79.405251).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km), all of it land. The Youghiogheny River flows through the town and is renowned by the whitewater kayaking/rafting community as the take-out for the famous Upper Yough run.
Friendsville is named after its first European settler John Friend, who came to what is now Garrett County before the Revolution. Many of John Friend’s descendants live in Garrett County today, and the headquarters and library of the Friend Family Association are in Friendsville because of this connection.

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
