Fairview Heights is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 17,078 at the 2010 census. Fairview Heights is a dominant shopping center for Southwestern Illinois and includes numerous shopping plazas and the St. Clair Square mall.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.2 square miles (29 km), of which, 11.1 square miles (29 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (0.54%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 15,034 people, 6,026 households, and 4,206 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,348.6 people per square mile (520.6/km²). There were 6,310 housing units at an average density of 566.0 per square mile (218.5/km²). A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
