East Bend is a town in northeastern Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 659 at the 2000 census. It is a Piedmont Triad community.
East Bend is located at 36°13′3″N 80°30′33″W / 36.2175°N 80.50917°W / 36.2175; -80.50917 (36.217471, -80.509064).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 659 people, 271 households, and 188 families residing in the town. The population density was 514.8 people per square mile (198.8/km²). There were 304 housing units at an average density of 237.5 per square mile (91.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 95.14% White, 1.21% African American, 0.91% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 1.67% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.50% of the population.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
