Durand is a city in Pepin County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,968 at the 2000 census. The city is located within the Town of Durand and is also the county seat.
Originally named Bear Creek, Durand is located on the banks of the Chippewa River approximately 15 miles (24 km) from its confluence with the Mississippi River.
The Durand area was first settled in 1856 when 21 year old Miles Durand Prindle came up the river in a keel boat named the “Dutch Lady,” and took government land on the site of the present city. Durand was incorporated on April 12, 1887.
The Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder begin here in Pepin County. A lesser known, but equally enjoyable book is Caddie Woodlawn. It takes place in Downsville, Wisconsin.

Be taught all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a leisure activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data found there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the ensuing years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How to Start:

Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.

Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Durand skate park.
