Danish Open Source Society (abbreviated DOSS) is working to promote open standards and open source. The purpose of DOSS is to create tangible results through the work of the its members. DOSS has a very pragmatic approach and values tangible results higher than intangible principles. Most of the work of DOSS is done by a small group of very serious members.
As part of the DOSS-approach to promote Open Source, the society is behind a development project in Chinandega in the Northeastern Nicaragua. Open Source is here used to enhance the communication and learning in several villages. In that way DOSS is contributing, through the promotion of Open Source, to the improvement of the conditions of life in a specific area of the world.
This pilot project can be viewed as an integrated part of the overall strategy of DOSS on the promotion of Open Source and Open Standards.

Learn Skateboarding in a Two Week-Long School

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the fundamentals of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. In spite, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your current skill level.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Doss skate park.
