Crompond is a community and census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Cortlandt Manor in Westchester County, New York. The population was 2,050 at the 2000 census.
Crompond is located at 41°17′21″N 73°50′4″W / 41.28917°N 73.83444°W / 41.28917; -73.83444 (41.289126, -73.834385).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.5 km), of which, 2.5 square miles (6.5 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) of it (0.80%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,050 people, 609 households, and 517 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 824.7 per square mile (317.9/km²). There were 623 housing units at an average density of 250.6/sq mi (96.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.76% White, 2.44% African American, 0.05% Native American, 4.24% Asian, 0.54% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.80% of the population.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 report by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the ensuing years the locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
