Cowarts is a town in Houston County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Dothan, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. At the 2000 census the population was 1,546.
Cowarts is located at 31°11′58″N 85°18′23″W / 31.19944°N 85.30639°W / 31.19944; -85.30639 (31.199575, -85.306272).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 7.2 square miles (19 km), of which, 7.2 square miles (19 km) of it is land and 0.14% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,546 people, 603 households, and 469 families residing in the town. The population density was 213.6 people per square mile (82.4/km). There were 684 housing units at an average density of 94.5 per square mile (36.5/km). The racial makeup of the town was 84.93% White, 12.35% Black or African American, 0.65% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.39% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races. 0.52% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Be taught all of the fundamentals of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2023 report by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation bubble that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Cowarts skate park.
