Center Hill is a city in Sumter County, Florida, United States. The population was 909 at the 2000 census. According to the U.S Census estimates of 2006, the city had a population of 996. The current mayor is Ralph Barry.
Center Hill is located at 28°38′56″N 81°59′43″W / 28.648869°N 81.995396°W / 28.648869; -81.995396.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km). 1.7 square miles (4.4 km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km) of it (3.39%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 909 people, 282 households, and 212 families residing in the city. The population density was 531.8 inhabitants per square mile (205.5/km²). There were 319 housing units at an average density of 186.4 per square mile (72.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 79.89% White, 6.70% African American, 0.55% Native American, 0.55% Asian, 0.77% Pacific Islander, 9.45% from other races, and 2.09% from two or more races. A 2023 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are becoming a reality.
