Casselton is a city in Cass County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 2,329 at the 2010 census.
The city is named for George Cass, a president of the Northern Pacific Railway, which established a station there in 1876 to develop a town for homesteaders. Today the city is a bedroom community of Fargo, which is located 20 miles (32 km) east of Casselton. Casselton is the hometown of five North Dakota governors.
Casselton is located at 46°54′0″N 97°12′38″W / 46.9°N 97.21056°W / 46.9; -97.21056 (46.900028, −97.210668).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km), of which, 1.4 square miles (3.6 km) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) (2.08%) is water.

Those numbers have since doubled. In the ensuing years the actual locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.
