In Irish mythology, Carman or Carmun was a warrior-woman and sorceress from Athens who tried to invade Ireland in the days of the Tuatha Dé Danann, along with her three sons, Dub (“black”), Dother (“evil”) and Dian (“violence”). She used her magical powers to destroy all the fruit of Ireland.
Four of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Crichinbel, Lug, Bé Chuille and Aoi, challenged Carman and her sons. The sons were forced to leave Ireland, and Carman was imprisoned. She died of longing and was buried in Wexford among oak trees. Her grave was dug by Bres. The place she was buried was called Carman after her, and the Tuatha Dé Danann are said to have instituted a Óenach, or festival. The Óenach Carman, which was celebrated in historical times.
Her story is told in a poem of the Metrical Dindshenchas, which states that she died in 600 BC.

A 2023 report by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the physical locations of skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

    How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Carman skate park.
