Calabasas is an affluent city in Los Angeles County, California in the western United States. It is located in the hills in the southwestern San Fernando Valley and the Santa Monica Mountains between Woodland Hills, Agoura Hills, West Hills, and Malibu, California. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 23,058, up from 20,033 at the 2000 census, according to the U.S. Census Bureau website, factfinder.census.gov. The city was formally incorporated in 1991. Prior to that the area was an unincorporated portion of Los Angeles County.
The Leonis Adobe, an adobe structure in Old Town Calabasas, dates from 1844 and is one of the oldest buildings in the greater Los Angeles area.
It is generally accepted that Calabasas as the city name is derived from the Spanish calabaza meaning “pumpkin,” “squash,” or “gourd.” Some historians hold the theory that Calabasas is a translation of the Chumash word calahoosa.

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Understand all of the basic principles of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Irrespective, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered that there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the following years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Calabasas skate park.
