Big Bear City is an unincorporated, census-designated place in San Bernardino County, California immediately east of Big Bear Lake. The population was 12,304 at the 2010 census, up from 5,779 at the 2000 census. The makeup of Big Bear City is mostly residential with smaller houses and cabins laid out in typical square block fashion.
Despite the name, Big Bear City is not an incorporated city, and should not be confused with the adjacent incorporated city of Big Bear Lake.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 32.0 square miles (83 km), 99.95% of it land and 0.05% of it water.
The nearby ski resorts consist of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, usually shortened to “Bear” by locals.

A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data discovered there were 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the physical locations of skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The most significant change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
