Benwood is a city in Marshall County, West Virginia, along the Ohio River. It is part of the Wheeling, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,585 at the 2000 census.
Benwood was chartered in 1853 and incorporated in 1895. The name of the city is derived from “Ben’s Woods”, as Benjamin McMechen (1777 – 1855) inherited that portion of land from the estate of his father, William McMechen (1724 – 1797), and built his homestead upon it. The neighboring city of McMechen is named after William McMechen and his family, who were among the earliest settlers of this area.
Benwood is located at 40°00′46″N 80°44′02″W / 40.012748°N 80.734008°W / 40.012748; -80.734008 (40.012748, -80.734008).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.8 km), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.2 km) of it is land and 0.6 square miles (1.5 km) of it (32.07%) is water.

Find out all of the fundamentals of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. No matter, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your current skill level.

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the actual locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

How you can start skateboard lessons?

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Benwood skate park.

  • Ability: Beginner through Competition-Style Advanced.
