Benkelman, a city, is the county seat of Dundy County , Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,006 at the 2000 census. As of the 2010 census it has a population of 839
Benkelman is located at 40°3′2″N 101°32′1″W / 40.05056°N 101.53361°W / 40.05056; -101.53361 (40.050615, -101.533660).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,006 people, 458 households, and 266 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,267.6 people per square mile (491.7/km²). There were 576 housing units at an average density of 725.8 per square mile (281.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.51% White, 0.80% Native American, 0.60% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.89% from two or more races. Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 survey and study by American Sports Data uncovered that there are 18.5 million skaters in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the most recent year were under the age of eighteen, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have doubled since then. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

We will show you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from customized instruction to meet your current skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Benkelman skate park.
