City of Aurora is a Home Rule Municipality spanning Arapahoe, Adams, and Douglas counties in Colorado. Aurora is an eastern suburb of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area (Metro Denver). Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the developed generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport for their children as led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

    I have been involved in the skateboard community for 17 years. I own a skateboard company (SpeakEasy Colorado -speakeasyskate.com) that focuses on documenting more than 160 Colorado skateparks and the locals that skate them. I primarily skate parks, but I began as a street skater. I work with kids every day and I regularly provide skateboards and advice to skaters of all ages. I have extensive knowledge of skateboard history, terms and vocabulary, skatepark etiquette, and molding children into model skaters. I have introduced my 8-year-old daughter to skating and thus have opened the door to help other girls in the skate community. I work closely with all the Denver Metro skate shops and have built a reputation as a positive skateboard advocate. I would love to continue to give back to the skateboard community and help guide the youth in a positive direction.

Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

    The largest change has been the generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the worldwide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
