About this Video: In an effort to preserve these memories and everything Southside Skatepark and to honor those that have worked here, built here, and skateboarded here we wanted to publish this edit of 1-second photos documenting rebuilds taking place every year except two since 2008. Southside thanks everyone who participated in keeping us tip top and changing things up as often as we have over the years. Everyone has a perspective regarding various props over the years and working here we literally hear each and every one. What isn't taken into consideration by these opinions is their own personal vantage point and what might have been contributing to why they think this or that was the "best." We certainly have my "best Southside Skatepark" idea in my own head as well. We might roll back the clock and go build that, but the other issue is that "skateboarding has changed" and that setup wouldn't service the current scene the way it did back at whatever set up you or I think was the best at the time it was in service here. The main thing we hope you derive from this video is that we truly love skateboarding, the people we meet through skateboarding, and the memories we share together by being skateboarders. So, before I lose access to all my backups of this data, or crash another hard drive, or who knows, for some reason am just no longer to broadcast this I wanted to get it out and say THANK YOU, to everyone for all their contributions to this dream over the years.

OJ Wheels | Southside Skatepark Party | Raybourn, Nora, & the Crew

Volcom’s Wild In The Parks entered the Lone Star State to finish off the North American qualifying series at Southside Skatepark in Houston, TX on Saturday October 3, 2015.

Southside Skatepark has been apart of the Wild In The Parks since its inception 13 years ago. During this time Southside has built an ever-evolving skatepark to keep the masses challenged and coming back for more. The park boasts a variety of speedy transition that sends you into perfectly crafted ledges, rails, gaps, and stairs. It did not take long for the nationwide influx of competitors to heat things up as practice started and tricks began to rattle off. The battlefield was set and it was time to see who would capture the remaining invites to the 2015 Wild In The Parks Global Championships at The Berrics.
