Shocking Video: One Boy Killed, Seven Injured in Shooting at a Skatepark

How many shots have to ring before everybody gets the idea they’re supposed to dip?

An eye-witness shot the above video released to the public today.

Skateboarders at Los Altos Skatepark in Albuquerque, New Mexico were in for a surprise when shots rang out.

The incident was started when non-skateboarders asked to borrow a skateboard. The skater asked for his board back, and they refused.

That’s when the fight rolled out. The original incident happened in May, 2015. The shocking video above was just released to the public today. A court order on Thursday ordered the city of Albuquerque to release the videos the Albuquerque Police Department says shows Jaquise Lewis being killed.

Police are seeking those with information or video.

The first set of shots were supposedly done by a guy shooting his gun in the air. The second set of shots were another person who grabbed their gun and shot the man who did the first shots.

According to Albuquerque authorities, there have yet to be charges because this may have had to do with self-defense. In incident left, one boy dead, six injured, and one paralyzed.

The Los Altos Skatepark sits adjacent to the I-40 Freeway (a major throughway). It is surrounded by mostly middle-class incomes. The neighborhood across the street is reported to be mostly-family occupied with a median family income of over $60,000. However, just over a mile west of the skatepark is a neighborhood known for violent crime and car thefts.

Albuquerque averages approximately 38 murders per year.
The overall crime rate in Albuquerque is 521.4 per 100,000 people, while the average for United States cities is just 294.

Drunk mother tries to drop in at a skatepark (while wearing flip flops)

It’s the suspense that kills us.

She’s not wearing a helmet, she’s wearing sandals and she may have had a few drinks.

Usually mothers are trying to tell their kids to wear helmets and not skate…
But this lady honestly believes she can skate.

”˜Don’t do it mum,’  comes from the crowd (though we’re not sure if that actually is from her child).

But she does”¦ after a little speech.

”˜I’m gonna let y’all know that I will bust my ass”¦ and I have flip flops on,’ she says.

”˜Don’t put this sh*t on YouTube either.’

Oops.

You will probably watch the video more than once.

We did.

How to Manual on a Skateboard (& Nose Manual)

Before you learn how to do a manual on a skateboard, you should first feel comfortable with:
1. Rolling on a skateboard
2. Turning on a skateboard
3. Comfortable with resting on the tail of the skateboard.

There are two different types of manuals:
1. Manuals
2. Nose Manuals

Manuals are EASIER than nose manuals. Start with those first.

There are two steps to the manual:
Step 1. Find the proper foot positioning
Step 2. Find you center of balance

For step one, you want you feet to be straight and not angled. If your feet are straight, it will be easier to balance. Also try to keep your shoulder over each of your feet while doing a manual.

For step two, you want to find your center of balance. The key to finding your center of balance is distributing your weight so that half of your weight is in the front of your wheels on the ground and half of your weight is behind the wheels. The most difficult thing about the center of balance is finding it and holding it.

We recommend that once you find your center of balance that you never make any lower body adjustments. Try to keep your body as still as possible. Only make adjustments to your weight if you are starting to fall. When you start to fall on a skateboard, then make minor adjustments in your upper body and in your arms.
