Plum Grove Skatepark, Rolling Meadows Illinois
This park is alright if you are looking for your standard run of the mill slapped up suburban skate park. This Park is pretty tilt. it’s built on an old tennis court so you gilder and slide. The fun benches, rails, and the ledge/pad are alright. The mini ramp is way to small in terms of width and makes better use as a many pad than a ramp. The enjoyable box is really awkward too. The skate park seems really orientated towards beginner and novice skaters who have only been skating a couple years. Basically this park is a typical example of a suburban town trying to slap something up quick and cheap. The vibe is very chill how ever for a small amount reasons:
1 The skate park is somewhat hidden by trees and such from the road so it never gets super crowded and cops never come
2 Most of the skaters are local, and half of them are just older guys trying to get back into the feel of skating
3 The Lurker factor is very low except for a random soccer mom walking her dog here and there. Quite a nice change from spots like park ridge.
4 it’s free, and it’s has just about the only ledge and manual pads available in this sorry lower center cl suburban hell hole.
How Crowded? 2
Are pads required to skate?: no
