Located in Stan Wadlow Park, East York Skatepark is a bustling community-based facility in Toronto, ON, Canada. Open 24/7, it serves as a vibrant hub for local skateboarders and community members alike.
The skatepark's origins date back to 1998 when East York skaters, in collaboration with local councilors and politicians, embarked on a journey to bring their vision to life. After securing funding from the city in 2005, construction began, and the park officially opened its doors on June 23, 2007, thanks to the dedication of Team EY and the support of the community.
Designed by Jim Barnum and featuring smooth concrete work by Eric Meunier, East York Skatepark has earned its place among the Best Skateparks in Canada. Despite its modest budget, the park boasts impressive features, including a mellow bowl with excellent coping, ledges, banks, graffiti-covered flat ground, and a gritty construction that fosters the growth of street skaters.
The park's layout comprises a bowl and street section, offering a diverse range of obstacles for skaters of all levels. From hubbas and quarterpipes to kickers, handrails, gaps, and more, East York Skatepark provides an ideal environment for honing skills and preparing for street skating adventures in Toronto.
