Crested Butte Skatepark
Build by red of burn side fame, the bowl is quick and burly. The shape of the bowl looks very simple but just watch some of the local skaters and you’ll see the many options that this bowl has. 11 Ft. deep end complete with pool coping (for grinding) and a 6 Ft. shallow end with nice quick metal coping (for grinding) set just right. Tons of lines and tons of speed for those crafty enough to work it. The street section is very small, but workable, and well built too. But, this park is all about the bowl. the question that kept popping up on my mind was how is it that such a small town up in the center of the mountains managed to get such a fun skatepark. It’s a bit off the beaten track but if you like big quick bowls you will want to hit this spot up, without a doubt. take RT. 50 to GUNNISON. Go north from there to CRESTED BUTTE, when you get into town, turn left onto BELLEVIEW, go to the end of the road and you’ve found the skate park. there, so easy, you’ve got it, now go skate.
