Skateboarders at Los Altos Skatepark in Albuquerque, New Mexico were in for a surprise when shots rang out.
The incident was started when non-skateboarders asked to borrow a skateboard. The skater asked for his board back, and they refused.

Police are seeking those with information or video.
The first set of shots were supposedly done by a guy shooting his gun in the air. The second set of shots were another person who grabbed their gun and shot the man who did the first shots.
According to Albuquerque authorities, there have yet to be charges because this may have had to do with self-defense. In incident left, one boy dead, six injured, and one paralyzed.
The Los Altos Skatepark sits adjacent to the I-40 Freeway (a major throughway). It is surrounded by mostly middle-class incomes. The neighborhood across the street is reported to be mostly-family occupied with a median family income of over $60,000. However, just over a mile west of the skatepark is a neighborhood known for violent crime and car thefts.
Albuquerque averages approximately 38 murders per year.
The overall crime rate in Albuquerque is 521.4 per 100,000 people, while the average for United States cities is just 294.
Tragic ending to a simple dispute.
